Submit Your Research
We are currently looking for review and research article submissions for the
37th USJ Volume.
Deadlines:
Priority: December 15th, 2023
Final: January 21st, 2024

Publishing your research in a peer-reviewed journal is a great opportunity for any undergraduate. When you publish through USJ, you retain all rights to your article. Publication is also an excellent asset to graduate school and research fellowship applications.
Who is eligible to submit?

Any UCLA undergraduate student
-
An undergraduate student enrolled at a different institution, but conducted research at UCLA or with a UCLA faculty
-
We do not accept graduate student submissions

Submission Requirements:
Submit your manuscript on the Google Form linked above. You will need to submit your article as both a Word and PDF document. Please review the above resources and make sure the format of your submitted manuscript closely follows the guidelines provided.
Additionally, submit the Acknowledgement Form (linked below) with your article submission. You will also need to complete a Licensing Form if your article is approved for publication.

The Licensing Form will be completed through DocuSign in March, but please review it above.
Timeline
December - February
Review
Your manuscript will undergo a double blind review process. You will be provided with a compilation letter detailing necessary changes (regarding scientific content and figures). You must re-submit your manuscript with revisions to be approved.
Late April
Send to print
February - March
Editorial
Your manuscript will be edited for readability and citation formatting. You will meet and actively communicate with staff to revise your manuscript to improve readability and accessibility.
Late May
Volume 37 Released
April
Layout
Layout Board will format the content of your manuscript and figures for print. You should anticipate revisions for figures and file formats.
